I have been asked to find out what programs or materials are being used for math intervention at the middle school (grades 5-8), and what your experiences have been with them.

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide!

Math is the most important subject everyone should have the basic knowledge of the math. They knows that the school at the middle level are doing good efforts in help with assignments perhaps students should also show there interest so they can teach them in more good ways. I will encourage all the parent to help their child who cannot understand and have some kind of fear about the mah. As this course is important one.

    Hi Barb,

As our middle school, I have a lot of resources which can be overwhelming at times, but helpful too!  We use STAR Math and AIMSweb as a benchmark all students, but AIMSweb for progress monitoring Tier 2 and Tier 3 students and STAR accelerated math for skills review.  I purchased Cognition-Based Assessment & Teaching by Michael T. Battista (fairly inexpensive 6 book series) which helps identify students' struggling areas and gives a better picture of students strengths and weaknesses.  I also have Do the Math, Now! which is a direct instruction resource used to teach multiplication/division and fractions.  I have only used this with my 5th graders.  Most days, I create individual activities for my 6th-8th grade tier 3 groups to help build skills that they are missing or haven't quite reached mastery in yet.  A lot of information, but take away whatever works best for your students.
