Hank Kepner served as NCTM president in 2008-2010. Hank is Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is also the Past President of the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM), the Association of Mathematics Teachers Educators (AMTE), and the Wisconsin Mathematics Council (WMC). Hank taught middle and high school mathematics for over 10 years in Iowa and Milwaukee, and continues to be involved in professional development with teachers in MPS and numerous districts since 1972. Hank was a Program Officer at the National Science Foundation for five years and served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at UWM. He was on the NCTM Board during the creation of the 1989 Curriculum and Evaluation Standards for School Mathematics and served as president during the development of the Common State Standards in Mathematics.
