DeAnn Huinker


DeAnn Huinker is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Dr. Huinker was a lead writer for “Principles to Actions: Ensuring Mathematical Success for All” and also an author of “Taking Action: Implementing Effective Mathematics Teaching Practices in Grades K-5.” Dr. Huinker is a professor of mathematics education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics education. She also directs the Center for Mathematics and Science Education Research and is actively involved in supporting school districts with the implementation of effective teaching practices and rigorous content standards. She is currently the principal investigator for the Strong Start Math Project for K-3 teachers.
