Sister Mary Petronia Van Straten and Ethel A. Neijahr ScholarshipsThe Wisconsin Mathematics Education Foundation, in collaboration with the Wisconsin Mathematics Council, is proud to offer two $2,000 scholarships to qualified students currently enrolled in teacher education programs in the state of Wisconsin. These collegiate level scholarships are awarded annually to two Wisconsin students who are currently studying elementary education or mathematics education at any Wisconsin private or public college or university.

If you do not have direct contact with these students, please forward this information to any colleagues who would be able to share this information with their students. Note that all applications are due March 1st. To be eligible students must be:
- a legal resident of Wisconsin
- currently enrolled in a Wisconsin public or private teacher education program
- currently enrolled in or have already completed a course in methods of teaching mathematics, and
- currently have a GPA of at least 3.00 (B average) or better.
If the applicant is a secondary major, he/she must have successfully completed 16 credits in mathematics. A statistics and a computer programming or technology application course must be part of the undergraduate/graduate program.
If the applicant is an elementary major, his/her program must include 6 credits of mathematics. Some statistics concepts and some computer/technology knowledge must be part of the undergraduate/graduate program.
The application process opens December 1 of each year. All applications must be submitted electronically either by completing them online or emailing the scanned application to awardsWMEF@gmail.com
